Ghana: Star Assurance Unveils ’40 Reasons to Smile’ Promo to Celebrate 40 Years of Service

Star Assurance is thrilled to announce the launch of its ’40 Reasons to Smile’ promotion, a special campaign to celebrate four decades of excellence in the insurance industry since its founding in 1985.

Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah, Chief Executive Officer of Star Assurance, shared that this unique promotion offers an opportunity to engage with clients and partners, showing appreciation for their continued loyalty and commitment. The promotion features quarterly draws, where participants can win exciting prizes including souvenirs, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai.

“This exciting promo is centered around our motor insurance portfolio because motor insurance is the most popular form of insurance in Ghana,” Mrs. Barfour-Awuah said at the launch event. “Through this initiative, we are providing rewards and peace of mind, ensuring our clients feel protected while enjoying the benefits of our motor insurance policies. We also have a range of exciting activities and exclusive experiences planned for our valued partners.”

Michael Kofi Andoh, the Acting Commissioner for Insurance at the National Insurance Commission, lauded Star Assurance’s impressive achievements and encouraged recognition of the company’s significant growth and resilience over the past 40 years.

“It is indeed an achievement for an indigenous insurance company to thrive for over 40 years,” Mr. Andoh emphasized. “This success is landmark for the industry, the economy, and the nation as a whole. Notably, Star Assurance separated its life insurance business from its non-life insurance operations ahead of the Insurance Act of 2006. This led to the creation of Star Life Assurance, which has also seen significant growth,” Mr. Andoh added.

Star Assurance proudly ranked as the top non-life insurer for 2023 in terms of underwriting profit, total assets, and claims paid.
